He has a Ph.D. in Communication and, prior to Turpin, taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He founded Turpin Communication in 1992. Learn PowerPoint 2016 for Windows Customize Quick Access Toolbar The Quick Access Toolbar, or QAT is the only toolbar available for customization in PowerPoint -- here you can place your most used commands so that they are accessible to you with just a single click. There are two ways in which you can add your favorite commands to the QAT. The easier way is to right-click any button on the Ribbon tabs and choose the Add to Quick Access Toolbar option. Reset, Export, and Import QAT Customizations If you have a bunch of commands that you use frequently, you may want to keep them more accessible within PowerPoint 2016 by customizing your Quick Access Toolbar -- you populate the QAT with commands you use often. Over a period, these customizations may become a valuable asset you want to save or share. Enable Developer Tab in the Ribbon The Developer tab of the Ribbon is typically not visible within PowerPoint 2016. To enable it, you have to visit the PowerPoint Options dialog box. So why would you want to enable a tab that's hidden by default? That's because the Developer tab provides options that most PowerPoint users may not be aware of, and don't typically use. If you are a programmer or developer, or even someone who wants to explore options that let you take PowerPoint further -- then you will love the advanced options within the Developer tab. Add and Rename Ribbon Tabs in PowerPoint 2016 The Ribbon that you see within the PowerPoint 2016 user interface was designed to make all options easily accessible. To make more options available, you can add more tabs, rename them, and populate them with even more commands, as we will explore within this tutorial.

Hole in the Paper Graphics - 01

What does "Hole in the Paper" mean? This is a name for a graphic treatment that gives an appearance of something being visible from a frame of torn paper. Typically it is difficult to create a graphic of this sort in PowerPoint. So we decided to create something so easy. In fact, this ended up being so simple that anyone can now build this "hole in the paper" visual effect in just under one minute!

How did we do that? We created everything other than the picture you want to use. All you need to do is just download our Hole in the Paper graphic and insert your own picture, send it behind everything else in your "slide" and you are done.
