Prezi/Harris Interactive Survey: Conversation with Peter Arvai Peter Arvai loves technologies that
enable world-changing stories to be shared. In 2008, he joined forces with Adam Somlai-Fischer and Péter Halácsy,
an architect and an innovator, to create a more memorable and engaging way for people to share stories. Today,
their creation is known as Prezi. Before co-founding Prezi, Peter was already active in the information-sharing realm.

Change Picture
Imagine you have inserted a picture in PowerPoint 2013, and then applied various picture editing options to enhance its appearance.
For example, we added a border, applied some Picture Effects, etc. And then you realize that you have a better picture, or your boss
asked you to change the existing picture to another one, but with all the same effects! You would probably delete the original picture
and start all over again, and yes, that is a long process! Or you can change any existing picture into another with just a couple of
clicks -- retaining all effects.
Reset Pictures
Once a picture is inserted within PowerPoint, any manipulations you make to that picture are strictly only on the surface. The appearance
of the picture changes on the slide, but the unaltered picture is stored within your PowerPoint presentation. Essentially that's good
because if you make many changes to a picture -- and then regret experimenting -- then you can just reset your picture rather than
starting all over again! There's one caveat though -- the option to reset any picture back to its original form works only if you have
not run any compression options for pictures within your presentation.
Compress Pictures
There is no doubt that a presentation with relevant pictures is more effective than just a plain text presentation.
Although pictures enhance the look of your presentation, they can also phenomenally increase the size of your presentation
file. PowerPoint 2013 and some previous versions are better in that respect compared to the much older versions because they
do some compression even if you may not be aware -- yet there is an option to make the compression even more effective. |

Creating Custom Slide Shows
Has it ever happened that you wanted to include just a few slides in your slide show rather than displaying the entire presentation?
Then you need not delete the slides that need not be shown -- nor do you need to create a whole new presentation containing only the
slides to be shown. All you need to do is to create a Custom Slide Show! So, what's a custom slide show? Think of your individual slides
as songs within a playlist -- using the playlist analogy, your custom slide show is a playlist of those songs -- you just substitute
songs for slides!
Playing Custom Shows
The purpose of creating custom slide shows is to present them to your audience. To do that, you could access the Custom Shows dialog box,
and then select a show and then choose to play it -- but yes, that's a long process indeed. In this tutorial, we will show how you can
access the same custom show in a easier way. And then, we will also show you how you can set any custom show as the default, which
means that when you actually play your presentation in Slide Show view, only the slides within the custom show you select will be
shown. |

After inserting a video clip into PowerPoint, you can play the clip with minute control over its volume, looping, rewinding, etc.
Rather than create smaller tutorials that explore these options, we are exploring them all on this page. Before we do so, it's
important to understand that these abilities only exist so that you can use them when they are required, rather than using them
just because they exist!
Playing Video Across Slides
Do you want to add a video clip to your PowerPoint slide so that it continues to play across subsequent slides? This actually means that
when you move from one slide to another, the video continues playing without any interruption. In PowerPoint 2007, Play Across Slides
option was available in interface -- but in PowerPoint 2010 and 2013 it has been removed within the interface -- however, we found a
workaround to get this option back, as explained in this tutorial. |
